The importance of Ved in this Universe is unique. None other is Important. Ved is breath of Parmatma. The Knowledge of Ved is not emanated from human intellect. Ved is not simply the treasure of knowledge; Ved is the “KNOWLEDGE”.
No Hindu should doubt that origin of Ved is beyond human. Whoever had such misconception and formed different different religions, sects, opinions remained confused throughout their lives and confused their followers.
Due to ignorance there are many misconceptions and false information floats related to Atma. Some are as below
- God may bestow peace to his Atma.
- He has inflected pain to my Atma.
- May his soul rest in peace.
- Anam kara – soul friend.
- Soul is something that is risked in battle
and lost in death (ancient Greeks notion) - Chicken soup for the soul
- My Atma was tormenting.
- He is my soul mate.
- Ghost Atma
- Dead body Atma
- Sad Atmas become ghost
- Atma is a momentary science (Boudhha opinion)
- As the size of the body is big or small, Atma also is big or small (Jain opinion).
- That was union of two souls.
- Bad Atmas torment children and weak people.
- Weight of Atma is only 21 grams.
- With Fear Atma contracts.
- Atma enters body.
- Talking can be done with holy Atma.
- Science has discovered the secret of Atma.
- Atma is formed by God.
Etc. Etc
From Greek philosophers, Socrates, Aristotle to the modern scholars have put forward weird statements about Atma. Some of the Christian saints (copying Hindus) have taken Atma to be the image of God.
The most wonderful thing is, the western scholars who have studied Upnishad and authored many books and the Indians who have become philosophers after reading these books, none of them to date is able to understand Atma or could attain the Liberation and Blissfulness, the fruit of understanding Atma.
Whoever have surrendered to Sadguru and practice with humility in Vaidic path, such seekers only have become Atmadhnyani.
Now a days the people with scientific mind are ever increasing in our country. This is good, however some people ask laboratory proof of existence of Atma. And some educated people and the students of modern science, believe in God but the Vaidic tellings relating to Atma looks fictitious to them.
Mughal and British reign would not have done that much negative publicity against Ved which has been done in the past seventy years. It has become a routine for almost all the News Papers to do mockery of Hindu Traditions and Vaidic Tellings.
Perhaps Ved might have foreseen such a situation, and therefore Ved direct seekers as below
“Atmetyevopaseet”
“Atma exists”, is your practice.
Whoever has acute quest for Atma, for him it is essential to develop extreme trust in the mind that Atma is Parmatma and THAT existence is Certain, Omnipresent and to attain that KNOWLEDGE I will do my practice with full faith in Vedant and my Guru Maharaj.
This we discussed in the beginning that like Theory of Pythagoras first Trust Atma and then only look for the substantiation.
Now a days we watch so many religious channels on TV. The preaching on Atmadhnyan is seldomly seen or heard. In magnificent programs at upteen number of places of billionaire saints the name of Atmadhnyan is not getting uterred even by mistake. In this nation very few spiritual people would be there who are Knowers of Atmadhnyan and wish to impart to the Seekers.
Sage Yadhnyavalkya told Maitrei, Atma only deserves to be studied and understood; see, hear Atma, think and meditate Atma all the time. Though it is told to See Atma but Atma can not be seen with eyes. Reason is Atma can not be sensed by the senses. Yogis tell Atma is seen in meditation. Yogi tell many attributes of Atma. However no material vision of Atma is possible. Then what is the way to attain knowledge of Atma or see Atma?
