It is said in Yogshastra that Pranav, Omkar reads, reveals Ishwar. Here we must note that Omkar is not just a symbol but Omkar fully shows Ishwar. Let’s see the vast difference in these two. If we happen to see the Photo of Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as in Mumbai, we will think about this statue is in Mumbai. This is a symbol but does not reveal much about Mumbai. Now look at the map of Maharashtra. Just looking at that piece of paper we come to know about entire Maharashtra. Through This piece of paper Maharashtra gets revealed. Similarly Yog Shastra tells Omkar reveals entire brahm. In Shrimadbhagavatgita also Bhagwan says Omkar is Ekakshar Brahm, one Sacred Letter, which Encompasses entire Brahm.
There is some different interpretation in Yog Shastra about the three matras of Omkar. Gayatri mantra also is Omkar in Itself. Gayatri mantra is, “Oom, Bhur Bhuvaha, Swaha…” Bhu means Earth. Bhuvaha means Entire Infinite Space. Swah means Innumerous Galaxies in Endless Space. Here three matras of Omkar are A, U and M. In these three matras, encompass Earth,, Infinite endless Space with innumerable Galaxies. That means Entire Universe is Encompassed in these three matras.
When we look at Omkar,
At the top Dimension less Point – Paramatma; below is Ardhamatra, representing Turia, Fourth state; and below is the entire Universe encompassed in three matras. This is how Omkar reveals full Brahm. Omkar is map of Brahm.
