In today’s parlance Shravan (listening Vedant or Upanishad Principles from Sadguru) seems to be very difficult. It is not something which can just be heard through someone. Hardly there is any living Sadguru (means who knows Vedant Principles and have Experienced them, Self Realised Mahatma) now a days. If at all some one is there, whether he would wish to impart the Vedant Principles to his disciples to free them permanently from the sorrows in life is again a question mark.
Most of the Gurus are following path of devotion. They themselves do not know Vedant Principles. There are ample Gurus like this. Family people in general do get material benefits by serving such Gurus.
Other kinds of Gurus are Yogis. They do not tell about devotional rituals. They do have Supernatural Powers. They can remove the hurdles being faced by their disciples.
Mukundraj Maharaj is putting an emphasis here that Vedant Shravan needs to be done from Sadguru alone. Mukundraj Maharaj himself was Atmadhnyani and He is conveying here that for walking on the path of Adhyatm, self study of Shastras is of no use. If you listen to the persons who are not Atmadhnyani, who are not Self Realised, that also is not of any use for progressing on the path of Emancipation.
The conclusions those can be drawn from the first line are
- You must listen Vedant from Sadguru.
- To enable this Sadguru must be alive.
Such listening is not possible from the Mahatma who is not alive.
