Mahavakyavivaran (14)
(Sacred sentence in Vedas)
“Brahmand Hiranyagarbha Maya l Jo vegala ya dehatraya l Mulaprakruti Mahamaya l Yan vilakshan jo ll6ll”
Cont’d.. 2
One more meaning of Hiranyagarbha is conscience (chaitanya). Hiranyagarbha is Conscience. When Paramatma is with Maya, the movement seen everywhere is due to conscience. Conscience in all the beings is also Hiranyagarbha. Hiranyagarbha also is the symbol of dream state.
After Brahmand, Hiranyagarbha, third word is Maya. This word also is used with various meanings, but the main meaning is Maya formed by five panchamahabhoot. Akash – Sky – Space, Vayu – Air – Gas, Agni – Fire, Jala – Water, Prithvi.
This Maya is also with three Gunas, Satva, Raj, Tam.
Now let us dwell up on what Mukundraj Maharaj intents to tell here.
Here Brahmand is Awake state. When we are awake then only this Brahmand with, Sun, Moon, Stars, galaxies is visible to us. Therfore here Brahmand means awaken state.
In dream state we see and observe many things and persons, relatives, friends etc. Whatever we see in dreams all those things and persons appear first in our thoughts. They are dormant in our mind. Those thoughts are projected in our dreams. These thoughts previous to the projection as dream, they are like in the form of embryo. That state is also known as Hiranyagarbha. Here in this verse, the meaning of Hiranyagarbha would be state of dream.
When we are asleep we are in the hands of Maya. Our body is lying still and our senses and mind are defunct. We are submerged in Tam – Adhnyan – Maya.
Here in this verse Maya means sleep state.
