Pranam to Parampoojya Parameshwar Sadguru Swami Anilji Maharaj
Paramamrut
(English Translation of the Audio series in Marathi by Brahmatmaikyadhnyani Sadguru Swami Anilji Maharaj)
Chapter 3
Mahavakyavivaran (20)
(Sacred sentence in Vedas)
“Donhi nayani ek drushti l Donhi Shravani ek nad uthi l Donhi urdhwadharputi l Ekachi shabda ll14ll”
“Taise donhi padiche vivaran l Karita jeeveshwarache nirasan l Shuddha ladhe taya kavan l Dwait kalpi ll15ll”
We have two eyes but the scene we see is only one. We have two ears but we hear one sound. We have two lips but the word we say is one. Mukundraj Maharaj says, similar to this even if there are two pads – two words “Tat – Twam” when you systematically discard the impurities then remaining is only one Pure Nondual Paramatma. Then why should we get bogged down in the illusion of duality?
Devotion and duality is there everywhere. But it does not lead to anything tangible other than resolving some material gain obstacles. You cannot reach out to Parmatma by that path is said very clearly in Vedant – Upanishad. Vedant also tells very clearly that the Devotion that we undertake is purely an illusion. Swamiji says, However There was culture of devotion to God from my childhood, inculcating duality. Harsh reality dawned only when I met Paramguru Khaptinath Maharaj.
For real aspiration towards Paramatma, efforts will have to be taken using buddhi.
Devotion duality tells us that God is different entity and with devotion I will please him to obtain the means of happiness. Mukundraj Maharaj is saying here that once you meet Paramatma, have oneness with Paramatma, then what is the sanctity of illusory duality.
When Jeevaness is discarded from Jeeva, what remains is Atma. When Ishwarness is discarded from Ishwar, what remains is Atma. Tat is Ishwar and Twam is Jeeva and basically they are same Atma. Whoever is having deep yearning to meet Paramatma, he will have to grasp this and very firmly adhere into buddhi. Once this Absolute Truth is deciphered then why anyone would go into the illusion of duality?
