Pranam to Parampoojya Parameshwar Sadguru Swami Anilji Maharaj
Atmadhnyan Shighra Sadhana… 27
(English Translation of the series in Hindi by Brahmatmaikdhnyani Sant Swami Anilji Maharaj)
This guidance here is given as to How Atmadhnyan sadhana can be accelerated. Many of the Seekers studying Vedant Shastra do not come out of the illusion of the form (sakar) and formless (nirakar) for a long time, because there is no firm acceptance by the intellect about what is invisible or beyond senses.
In fact Parmatma is said to be formless to indicate the deviation from expectation of form. The Statement of Shruti, “Dev sakshi chetan aur nirgun hai”, meaning “God is a witness (observing without any involvement), chetan (conscious) and without attributes (Nirgun)” is also to depict the variation from expectation of ‘doer and being with attributes’. In conclusion no epithet can remain attached to Parmatma! That is why Shruti also expressed, inability to describe Parmatma, saying, “Yato wacha nivartante…”
(Description of Parmatma is beyond words)!
My Guru Sant Khapti Maharaj met me at the age of 102 years and his samadhi was at the age of 114 years in 2003. Perhaps Maharaj had to hasten the process of Atmadhnyan sadhana for me as he had less time at his disposal. Otherwise Maharaj did not use to interfere with the worship, devotion by others. However Maharaj thought it essential to break my inclination towards the name and form. It is wrong to consider Khapti Maharaj as an atheist.
Let us look at What Scriptures have to say about theist!
Firm Belief With the understanding of, “Asti”(exists) word, is “Astikya”.
However for some people, “Astikya” means only, to believe the God with attributes.
To the extent that Even Some of our own Hindu people tell commented Upanishads as Atheist because there no mention of name and form of God in them. But it is not like that.
“Asti bhati Priyam Roopam Nam chetyanshpanmchakam।
Adhhyatrayam Brahmaroopam jagadroopam tato dwayam ।।”
(Vakyasudha 20)
“Asti, bhati, priya, roop (form) and nam(name) among these five, first three are Brahma and the last two are for world.”
In this verse ‘Asti’ word is depicting only the existence of Parmatma. He is self established and no epithet of with or without attributes is expected here. Theist means having firm faith that Atma is existing.
Jayate…sti viparinnmate vardhate…pakshiyate vinashyati ।
(nirukta 1/1/2)
To get formed, have existence, gain strength-have variations, grow, decay (weaken) and get disposed off are known as six Transitions. The word, asti here indicates continously changing process of the world. This variational form asti is having continual changes; it does not remain same even for a moment. For the world of name and form, asti word is indicative of action that is always changing. Some people consider Such kind of transitory process as Astikya
The people saying Sant Khapti Maharaj; who put an end to my worship and devotional activities; is an atheist are wrong. Sant Khapti Maharaj had put an end to my Meditation Yog practice also. This had been witnessed by the disciples of Maharaj.
I used to medidate daily. I was able to focus my concentration and would experience the joy. I knew that I have acquired some good powers (Sidhhi ) but was not using them.
Once Sant Khapti Maharaj stayed at the house of Seth Dwarakaprasad Jaypuriya (mill owner), in Yeotmal city of Maharashtra. Sethji was very compassionate and had a deep trust in Maharaj. I was in service of Maharaj.
At my Meditation time I told Maharaj, I will proceed for a while for worship. Maharaj showed agreement and Dwaraka seth arranged for my Meditation in first floor in an isolated room.
I started my meditation after closing the door, and I was not aware how two hours did pass. Suddenly a very feeble voice could be heard and my meditative concentration got disturbed. The volume of the voice slowly started to increase. After five minutes it was clearly heard that some body is knocking the door and Dwaraka seth is calling me loudly. It took 5-10 minutes for me to get up.
Dwarka seth said, go and meet baba immediately! He is badly admonishing you! When I met Maharaj, received tons of abuse. By now I got used to get admonished by Maharaj.
I had purchased a house for Maharaj in Yeotmal. Maharaj was yet to shift there. Seclusion was there. So I started meditation. Similar thing had happened and after 3-4 hours there were loud noises. After opening the door, there were 2-3 police and some disciples of Maharaj. Mahraj had called for me. Again I received the full dose. Maharaj had prohibited me from meditating. The police who had come to bow before him, were sent to fetch me.
Oh! What a terrific self confidence! Maharaj used to say to the disciples, “There is no need for you to undertake any practice (Sadhana). I am capable to take you across (sansar). You are the person with family responsibilities! Just do your duty skillfully! That is the only religion you have, that’s all!
Maharaj used to get the practice (Sadhana) done by only mumukshu (adhikari (qualified having requisite virtues) disciple with acute quest).
