Pranam to Parampoojya Parameshwar Sadguru Swami Anilji Maharaj
Atmadhnyan Shighra Sadhana… 5
(English Translation of series in Hindi by Brahmatmaikdhnyani Sant Swami Anilji Maharaj)
It is very good that this series is being written. There are hundreds of books (granths) written on the practice (Sadhana) to be followed by a Knowledge seeker
(Dhnyan Sadhak), however seldomly it is mentioned in a serialised and detailed way; to be adopted as given here. And then in today’s age with the aim of indulging in worldly enjoyment who will undertake the headache of going into the subjects like Atmadhnyan?
However, “Tarati shok aatmavit” this #Vaidic message is required to reach the people tormented by miseries. #Atmadhnyan is the only solution for all the miseries of mankind nothing else.
I feel our Guru only has inspired Advocate Shri Arjun Singh Thakur for asking the question, “Which practice or sadhana should be undertaken to acquire Atmadhnyan?”. Otherwise presently there was no necessity to write in such a great details. Whatever is put forth here is through the inspiration of Shri Guru.
We were discussing Satshatra and Sadguru, as these two are the indivisible parts of the practice for seeking Knowledge
(Dhnyan Sadhana).
I was telling, it doesn’t matter even if your Guru is not competent enough to take you to emancipation or you don’t have Guru at all. In fact, your real Guru is residing in your heart right from your birth. You are not aware of Him.
We all must be remembering very well this famous Shloka from #Gurugita, which tells about both aspects of Guru.
“Brahmanandam paramsukhadam kevalam Dhnyanmurtim, dvandvatitam gagansadrusham tatvamasyadilaksham ।
ekam nityam vimalmachalam sarvadhisakshibhootam bhavatitam trigunarahitam Sadgurum tam namami ।।”
When we look at the meaning of this, we would know that the this description of Guru covers both the inner Guru as well as the human deeksha (initiating) Guru.
Brahmanandam – Inner one and outer Knower (Dhnyani) Guru both are Brahmanand (Supreme bliss)
Paramsukhadam –
Both the Gurus bestow happiness.
Kevalam Dhnyanmurtim –
Dhnyani Guru and inner Guru both are Knowledge (Dhnyan) only.
Dvandvatitam – No duality only oneness. This refers to inner Guru.
Gagansadrusham –
Gagan means sky. In spirituality sky means space between the two or more things and the space around in all the directions (ether).
Here the meaning is invisible. Inner Guru is invisible, however human Guru can be seen.
Tatvamasyadilaksham –
Tatvamasi, Vedvakya addresses inner Guru. This is not for human Guru.
Ekam-nityam – vimalam-achalam
(Only) one, always , pure, immovable. This refers to inner Guru.
Sarvadhisakshibhootam – Inner Guru is the witness (Atmaroop) of our mind, intellect, and all the senses and organs.
Bhavatitam –
Different from Bhav (existence) and Abhav (non existence). Refer to Inner Guru
Trigunarahitam –
Devoid of three Gunas, Satva, Raj, Tam. Refers to Inner Guru, body of human Guru and all the bodies are with these three Gunas.
Sadgurum tam namami – I bow to the Inner Guru and human Guru.
Now we know that as Atma Inner Guru is present in us right from the birth. In fact This is the Guru who makes us understand Atmadhnyan that is Self Realisation, bestowing emancipation. This inner Guru is the Parmatma inside us. His Knowledge is the Self Realisation or Atmadhnyan.
His search or quest is known as devotion (bhakti). Bhagawan Acharya writes
(Vivek Chudamani 32)
“Swaswaroopanusandhanam bhaktirityabhidhiyate”
Then who is this Guru who initiates us and is visible to us? Who is the one who guides us, advises us? Who is the one whom we intently serve and make offerings? Who is this Guru whom we search outside? Emancipation is bestowed by inner Guru then what does the outer one do? Magic? Why Religion and Acharyas compel us to have outer Guru? Why Sants say that without Guru knowledge can not be acquired?
Self Realised Guru is the God (Parmatma) Himself! Because Eternal (nitya), Pure (shuddha), Knower (Dhnyani, buddha) and Emancipated (mukta) these four aspects are present in Dhnyani Guru like God, Parmatma. That is why Guru is addressed as, “Gururbrahma (Guru is Brahma) Gururvishnu (Guru is Vishnu) Gururdevo Maheshwara (Guru is Maheshwara) and then Dhnyani Guru is also addressed as Parabrahma (Parmatma)
#Upnishad (shruti) also advises to worship Dhnyani Guru. This is the Guru who can make us understand the inner Guru who is Knowledge Himself. Otherwise this was almost impossible. That is why Guru Gita does not differentiate between Inner and Outer Dhnyani Guru. Both Gurus are one and the same only.
Mother #Shruti (upnishad) says Adhnyani are demons.
“Asurya nam te loka andhen tamasavruta:”
Meaning-
Those demon like people are covered by adhnyan (Devoid of Knowledge)
What needs to be done, If one can not reach Dhnyani Guru, how in the summarized and simplified way the studies of Satshatra can be done in the least possible time, etc will be seen in further chapters.
