Pranam to Parampoojya Parameshwar Sadguru Swami Anilji Maharaj
Atmadhnyan Shighra Sadhana… 8
(English Translation of series in Hindi by Brahmatmaikdhnyani Sant Swami Anilji Maharaj)
In the beginning Vedant Principles may appear difficult to believe. Even then, let us consider them as the confirmed principles and then understand from Satshatra and Sadguru how those are only the truth. Like in geometry we first consider Pythagoras theorem to be true and then undertake to prove the same.
Same methodology is to be adopted in Dhnyan Sadhana (seeking Knowledge).
Bhagawan Acharya has summarized Vedant in one line, you can call that as a theorem of
Atmadhnyan.
“Brahma satyam jagat mithya, jeevobrahmeiv na parah”
Meaning is Brahma only is the truth, world is illusory (mithya). Jeeva is Brahma nothing else.
Now let us think on the terms Brahma, Jagat, Mithya, and Jeeva. I will decipher the meaning of some of the Guru vakya and shruti vakya, for my friends to get introduced to the understanding embedded within. These need to be further dwelled upon by the individual seekers.
And in Dhnyan Yog (Knowledge Path) there is thinking, thinking and only thinking. No name recitation, no worship, no offerings. No meditation, no pranayam. Sit comfortably on sofa, chair, or read even with lying down because Parmatma is Dhnyan (Knowledge). Dhnyan is acquired through thinking not by any external means nor by exercise.
What is Brahma?
- Supreme sentence of Ved is –
“Sarvam khalu idam Brahma” –
( whatever is experienced through senses and also Whatever is beyond senses) All that exists is Brahma.
What is world?
World is that which is sensed through senses when you are awake. (It does not exist in either sleep or dream)
What is Mithya?
Whatever is sensed as true but does not exist in reality that is Mithya. Like Rainbow, Mirage etc.
What is Jeeva?
Jeeva is consciousness or sentience with ego.
Brahma is only one, however known in two forms. Characteristic (Savishesh) Brahma and Non characteristic (Nirvishesh) Brahma. Or with attributes and without attributes, Or with form and formless, with duality and monistic etc.
Whoever my friends are studying with full trust, I will explain them clearly this subject or thought of #Brahma by giving example from modern life.
Bhagwan Adhya #Shankaracharya has depicted(Vishvaroop) Universal Brahma (Parmatma) and imperturbable (Nirvikar) Brahma in the following line.
“Dantini daruvikare daru tirobhavati soo.. pi tatreiva ।
Jagati tatha Parmatma Parmatmanyapi jagattatirodhate ।।”
When our concentration is on wooden elephant, the aspect of wood is set aside or the knowledge of wood gets concealed. Only elephant is seen. Similarly when our concentration is on this world, the knowledge of Parmatma within is concealed and we see only the outward world.
However when the knowledge of Parmatma within is revealed or unfolded then the knowledge of world is vanished.
Let us look at this example in a new way.
In a mall (a sight) one robotic elephant (Parmatma Himself) was ordered from Japan (Infinity)
Elephant was made of plastic, however was complete resemblance of real elephant in color, wrinkles on skin, big ears, trunk, tail, teeth etc. Because of robotics (Conscience) had the body movement, eye movements like a live elephant. So much so that drinking and eating also was like real live elephant. However elephant was of hundred percent plastic.
People visiting mall would take the elephant (sansar, world) to be real and were frightened to go near. Timid people, ladies children(ignorant, Adhnyani) used to cry. However some persons who read in the news paper (Shastras) were knowing that in reality elephant (sansar, world) does not exist at all and it is fully plastic (Parmatma).
And those people also who have been informed by the trustworthy friends (Guru) had the realization that this is plastic (Parmatma).
One day some college students (seekers) visited there. One of the knowledgeable (Dhnyani) person present there told them that this is not an elephant (sansar, world) but it is plastic (Parmatma). However students did not believe. Then he showed news paper (Shastras) to them where in the company produced that robotic elephant was stated.
Now whenever Students would think this is an elephant then they would see real elephant in it, and whenever they would think plastic they would really see that as plastic (Indirect Knowledge, Paroksha Dhnyan).
Because at a time we can not see elephant and plastic both together. ( There can not be two understandings of One entity at a time.) After thinking for some time they got rid of their fear of elephant. They realized that this is not an elephant (sansar, world) and is really plastic(Parmatma). (Direct knowledge, self realization). In this way seekers became knowledgeable (Dhnyani). Ignorant remained as ignorant only.
Now we have realized that whatever we feel as world (sansar) is due to the ignorance. Truth is that this is only Parmatma.
