Mukundraj Maharaj is saying about ‘Ardhamatra’ here. Parampoojya Swami Anilji Maharaj tell that here Ardhamatra refers to Omkar, Akshar Brahm.
Omkar has three and half matras. There are two semicircles in one direction and one semicircle in opposite direction. Each of these semicircle is denoted by matra.
These three matras represented by semicircles, indicate three different states. Jagruti – Awake state, Swapna – Dream state and Sushupti – Sleep state. We – Jeeva normally dwell in these three states. In Omkar above these three semicircles there is a concave cord. ॐ. This cord is Ardhamatra. In Omkar there are three and half matras. Omkar is the Symbol – depiction of Paramatma. Omkar is known as Unique one letter (Ekakshar) Brahm. Three states of Jeeva or Antahkaran are indicated by semicircles and this cord Ardhamatra is on top it onlooking the three states. This Ardhamatra is a witness of the three states. There is some one who knows that ‘I am awake’, who knows that, ‘I am dreaming’, who knows that, ‘I am sleeping’. Jeevatma is separately onlooking the states of Jeeva. Not being the part of these states. That is denoted by Ardhamatra, onlooking the states, observing them. There is a point at the top in Omkar. That Point is Paramatma. In Omkar this full presentation is there. On the top Paramatma, then Jeevatma and then the visible world experienced through three states, Awake, Dream and Sleep. Like this Omkar is said to reveal the full existence. Ardhamatra indicated by the concave chord provides the Realisation of Jeevatma, separately observing everything under the three states of Antahkaran.
