“Pahije ekant sthan l Tethe chanchal n hoya mana l Sakal vrutite avarun l Baisave tethe ll2ll”
How to achieve concentration of mind, how to sit for meditation has been depicted quite in details in the sixth Adhyay (chapter six) of Dhnyaneshwari, by Dhnyaneshwar Maharaj. It is also given in sixth chapter of Shrimadbhagavatgita and Mahagranth Anileshwari.
Mukundraj Maharaj is telling here, that for performing meditation find out suitable secluded place. Take control of volatility of mind. Control wandering mind running after umpteen numbers of desires, emotions, memories etc.
“Karuni vishayachi nivrutti l Chittasi pratyagavrutti l Dhari drushyamatra virakti l Tyagbuddhi ll3ll”
There are umpteen numbers of desires in mind. These may vary from eating various types of foods, wearing different clothes, and so many endless things. Take those out of mind. Get rid of, ‘I want this or that, I should get these, I should not get these, these things should not happen with me etc.’ Take retirement from these desires and have peaceful mind. When you start meditation, do not pay any attention to the subjects of desires.
Pratyagavrutti means
turning towards inside. Be introvert. Go to your Antahkaran, your Swaroop. Take out the mind from outward world. Have attitude of Renunciation towards scene of the world. Get rid of The illusory scene where false notion of my, I, Mine is developed with nescience. Be indifferent, disenchanted towards worldly things and beings. Keep your buddhi in renouncing. Nothing is going to go along with you. Take out buddhi from possession and put to renunciation.
