Shatpanchashika Stotra…. 23
“Nirakrutya tyajedvisham saramaswadhya nirasam l Yatha tyajati nihisaram falam swadu rasam piban ll35ll”
While eating fruit we enjoy the delicious sweet juicy portion of the fruit and discard the dry, tasteless portion. Similarly we must see which is the dry tasteless portion of this world and discard it. The essence of the world which in fact is full world that we must grasp. All the temporary, perishable things are dry and tasteless. Those need to be discarded. (Methodology is elaborated as per Vedant Principles by Parampoojya Swami Anilji Maharaj in Marathi Vedant Dhnyan Granth, Dev Kothe Ahe)
The delicious, tasty portion is Eternal, Indestructible, Permanent.
“Natyantasannamatmanam mudhaha pashyati dushtadruk l Yatha divandha uditmarkam lokaprakashakam ll36ll”
There are some persons who can not see Sunlight. Such person can not see the Sun rising and showering its light on the whole world. Similarly the Foolish people whose sight is covered by ignorance – nescience can not see Atma who is nearest to Him.
” Vibhavyadhnyooonyam prapancham sukham chapi bibheti yaha l Deepadita drushyamanam swachchhayamiva balakaha ll37ll”
Child gets frightened by his own shadow thinking that he is different and shadow is different and something else. In same way ignorant person thinks that the world appearance, with happiness and anguish, is different than the Absolute Joy; gets frightened with the world.
Swamiji says here Saraswati Maharaj is conveying that, Paramatma is Absolute Joy, told by Shruti, ‘Anando Brahmeti’. In reality world is Paramatma, and Jeevatma is also Paramatma. However Jeevatma covered by ignorance, gets carried away by the illusion of the sorrowful incidents, thinks world is different than Joy.
